Architecture & Perception
Certain aspects and relationships of architectural perception are most easily explained with images. This is how the idea for this book was born. In individual chapters, Jörg Kurt Grütter assigns selected building details to areas such as space, color, dynamics, and surface. The reader can discover analogies and contradictions and view the photographs completely independently of the text. Only in the back of the book does one find all the information on the buildings depicted at the front—location, architect, year of construction, etc.—as well as an overall view of the buildings and short texts and quotes on architecture and perception. The photographs were taken during the author's stays abroad and travels on all continents and depict a multitude of famous and nationally typical buildings from different eras and cultures.
