Architecture theory II Hans Kollhoff
During his teaching career at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich from 1987 to 2012, Professor Hans Kollhoff influenced a generation of architecture students. This second volume of "Architecture Teaching" presents the results of his teaching and research since 2001 and, together with the first volume, provides a comprehensive overview of the work of the chair. While Hans Kollhoff's interest in his early years at ETH Zurich focused on concepts such as scenario and strategy, the focus shifted to fundamental architectural questions, which the students approached morphologically. In addition to the tectonic structure of a body, criteria such as posture or expression, and ultimately the anthropomorphic, are gaining increasing importance in his teaching.
An essay by Patrick Chladek places the professorship’s approach in a broader context.
