"Arno's simple idea was a stroke of genius. Reducing it to this small container inspired us all." Erik Spiekermann
The home of trained typesetter Arno Stolz houses a unique private collection of graphic art and typographic treasures. Starting in 1980, he began asking prominent designers in personal letters to create a creative contribution for him to fill the compartments of some of his type cases. Thus, these relics from the days of lead typesetting became a miniature gallery with almost 300 very special, unique pieces. This collection is enriched and supplemented by the extensive correspondence with the designers over three decades, which is equally valuable. Both the works of art and this remarkable collection of letters and New Year's cards are presented for the first time in this publication.
