Layout cards
A well-thought-out layout concept and a structured layout architecture create the foundation for a professional overall design. They shorten the layout production process and thus provide the necessary space for creative design work.
The "Layout Cards" illustrate basic knowledge from the broad field of print media design and production. Divided into the areas of media design, prepress, and postpress, they range from creating a type area to standardized correction symbols; from color, color spaces, and imposition patterns to collating marks and grain directions. They list the formats of the DIN series and those of large formats, explain the required image resolution, and show print-optimized PDF output. The classic structure of a book design as well as the design rules for advertising and news design are also part of this knowledge archive, making it an informative reference work not only for trainees.
